b)I remember Obama was elected for US president.I was sitting on the couch with my family waiting for them to announce who’s our new president and it came out to be Obama. I was so proud and happy for him, seeing the first Black president of the United States.

c)The class that I remember the most is Geometry class and Ms. Albrecht was my teacher. It was very frustrating in her class because she just told us to read the textbook and not really taught us anything. I went to her tutoring to get help but that doesn’t work, so I end up with a C in her class. I really like math, but after going to her class, I ended up hating math.

d) I would go and get my grade up by attending Ms. Albrecht’s tutoring at lunch. She gives out extra credit if you attend, but I was to lazy to get help. I would go and get more help.

Sophomore

a)

b)The biggest difference for me is that I have new teachers and new classrooms.I remember my cousin from Vietnam coming to the US to live with us and I was so happy. Also my cousin(older than me a year) will move from Oakland to Berkeley and he will attend BHS. We’re very close, so it’s fun hanging out with him. 

c) I remember the death of Michael Jackson. When the news first comes out, it was stunning to hear that. He was a great singer and dancer. It was a pity to lose a talented person.

d) I remember dissecting a pig fetus in Ms. Brewer’s class and it was my first time doing it, so it was interesting to me. The pig was smelly and gross but it was fun to try new things.

e) One thing that I’m especially proud of from my sophomore year is the short story we done in Mr. Becker’s class. I like creative writings, so it was fun doing it.

Junior

b) The hardest thing about Junior year is to take the SAT and study for it.When I took my first SAT, I woke up at 6 45 because it starts at like 7 15 but when I got there, we started to go in at like 8 15

c) The major news story. I remember I was getting more closer to my brother because he moved out and we’re not that close. We went out for dinner and movies to spend time with each other. In the past, he was like a stranger to me, but now he’s more mature and grown up.

d) The biggest surprise in my Junior year was my cousin in Vietnam was getting married. After that, his wife got pregnant and me and my family were happy for them.

e) I remember learning about the Vietnam war in Ms. Erby’s class. It was interesting to me because my family lived in Vietnam. This was a fun thing to learn and I always like to go to this class because Ms.Erby is such a nice teacher. I never get bored in her class.

f) In my Junior year, I’m especially proud of passing Pre Calculus because I was suck at it and it made my life terrible. I have two bad math teachers in my high school years. One was in my freshmen year, and one is this year. My teacher was a bad teacher…. I can’t understand a word he’s saying. The equation was confusing and there were a lot of memorizing to do….huh. Thank god I passed that class.

Senior Year

b)The best thing of being a senior is graduating from high school and move on with my life, going to college and seek for a career that I like. 

c) One thing that I would tell my freshmen self is to open up more to people.

d) The major news is when Whitney Houston passed away. She’s a great singer. Even though I’m not a real fan of hers but she’s a very talented person. I really respected her and listens to her songs. She has an amazing voice. 

e)Farewell by Rihanna. I will miss all of you. I’m about to go out to the real world and experience something new.

f) I learned to open up more to people and be more confidence in myself. I know that I will need to do so in the later on of my life. I have to share out my ideas and not just keep it to myself.  

g) One thing that I’m especially proud of is when we were doing our concentration in Studio Art. I struggled to actually finishing it, but after a lot of hard work, I finished. From this, I learned to cherish every time you have to create something that’s very important.

1. I think I agree with what Obama said because I think that students should pay that much for their education. The price is constantly increasing and I’m afraid a lot of students can’t even afford it.

2.His thoughts are good but I think that he’s making it into a funny thing. I don’t think this is supposed to be funny.

3. I think we should give more taxes, so that we can pay less in college. I don’t think it’s right to not pay for college, we must make some contributions to colleges.

2. The fed was created on December 23,1913, but operated in 1914 by US congress. People are afraid that they can’t get their money, so this was created to stabilize the financial system.

3. You can find federal reserves in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Richmond, Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, and San Francisco.

3. This is a pretty good amount for a single person I think in my opinion because I don’t need to spend much. And for family, I don’t think thing will turn out any better. This amount can’t even support more than one person.

It’s look to me that a lot of country aren’t doing so well.There’s a lot of low income out there.

1. I don’t have a credit card, but I want to get one. I think that it scary to have one because you will have to carry a lot of debt.

“70% of American college students have credit cards, five of every six of those students do not know their cards’ interest rates, 75% of them do not know their late payment charges and 70% of them do not know what their over-balance-limit fees might be.”

This percentage rate really stood out to me because this is a large percentage on how many people that doesn’t know these things.

“Nearly all of the 725 students who took the survey in fall 2009 were business majors — young people likely to be among the most financially astute of their generation”

I thought this was interesting and shocking to hear this because they study business, they should know more about it then other peoples.

“More than 90% of college students who hold credit cards are carrying monthly credit card debt.”

This is really sad having to pay so much debt because of credit card

70 percent of surveyed students. 13 percent said they use it frequently. Half of them use it only for emergencies. I think that we should use it for emergencies because you don’t want a big amt of debt waiting for you.

1. Five Facts about Teen Employment

• One in four American Ages 16 to 19 were unemployed in Feb. 2012.
• In the mid 2000s unemployment rate= 14 to 18%.
• Unemployment rate for Hispanics age 16 to 19=27.5% Black=34.7
• Teen with unemployment rate has been over 20 percent since 2008
• High school seniors employed 20 hours per week were, 6 to 9 years later, expected to earn approximately 11 percent more annually than their counterparts who did not work.

The most shocking to me is the one where the Blacks have a more higher rating because I’ve never expected that it would be so high.

I think everyone should work at a certain age because you need to obtain responsibility in working. Your life will be easier because you can get some experience in working with others.

1. The unusual thing about Panem is that they have more advanced technologies. Like high speed trains and weapons. 

2. The theory said that the prosperity happens because of “Capital Accumulation” and “Slow Residuals”. The increase of money can allow us to purchase more goods. More advanced technologies can improve the products.
